Another experiment created on 07.26.2022 using #Cinema4D and #OctaneRender.
Self initiated project created on 01.12.2015 using #Sculptris, #Cinema4D and #Octane render. Pushing and pulling digital clay around to create an interesting CG dragon statuette. Used the Skin SSS shader for the wax.
Another experiment created on 07.11.2015 using #xparticles #Cinema4D and #OctaneRender. Playing around with SSS materials, and rim lighting.
A one of the pitch options for a new year's eve live show inspired this self initiated project created on 22.12.2016 using #Cinema4D and #Octane render. #everydays. Playing around with gems, refraction, and chromatic aberration: A natural dispersion of rainbow colours found in glass and prisms.
Self initiated project created on 05.01.2020 using Cinema4D, Xparticles, Cycles 4D renderer, and Adobe Aftereffects. The theme this week was “motion”. Playing with xparticles and fluid dynamics. The colour of the particles are determined by their life, mapped to a gradient of various colours.
Self initiated project created on 05.04.2020 using Cinema4D, xparticles, and Cycles 4D renderer. The theme this week was “Frost”. Playing with xparticles, and aggregation along a surface. This is a combination of an animated surface on the floor, and the particles aggregating and advancing along at the same rate, which is creating the crystals of the frost.
Self initiated project created on 04.30.2020 using Cinema4D, xparticles, and Cycles 4D renderer. The theme this week was “Rhythm”. Playing with xparticles, the rate of particles is driven by pulsing sounds, and the colours change over time. The colour of the particles are determined by their life, mapped to a gradient of various colours. For those of you who caught the word play, the page title is a shoutout and homage to the world-class visual effects company Rhythm & Hues, who's name I always thought was so clever, and which is a total inspiration. They have been creating your favorite Hollywood VFX for decades now.
Self initiated project created on 05.01.2016 using #Cinema4D and #Octane render. #everydays. Pearls, Caviar and a golden sunset.
Self initiated project created on 06.26.2016 using Cinema4D and Octane render. The theme this week was “Nature”. Playing with the atom array tool.
Self initiated project created on 02.07.2020 using Cinema4D, Octane render, and adobe aftereffects. The theme this week was “Pixels”. I used the matrice object in C4D, which was instancing some cubes in a grid. The cubes clones were made visible when they intersected with an imported mixamo character with a looped walk cycle.
Self initiated project created on 05.15.2020 using Cinema4D, Octane render and Adobe Aftereffects. The theme this week was “Sketch”. The natural thing to do would be to draw something, but of course I did something totally different. Playing around with 3D and rendering with sketch & toon shaders in Cinema 4D using a mixamo character and looping animation. I thought it would be cool to have the character literally coming off of the page.
Architectural 3D rendering of a fictional monument. Composed of circular marble steps, a circular colonnade of Ionic order columns, and a shallow dome, the building is open to the elements. The Rotunda structure allows experimentation with natural daylight and long elegant shadows.
Self initiated project created on 12.04.2016 using #Sculptris, #Cinema4D and #Octane render. Pushing and pulling digital clay around to create an interesting organic character where the tree roots seem to come alive.
Self initiated project created on 11.18.2016 using Cinema4D and Octane render. The theme this week was “world”. Used some random noise to drive the displacement depth on a material applied to basic sphere geometry. Added some interesting colours by messing around with sub surface scattering parameters, which absorbs and disperses light that enters the object in various ways.
Self-initiated experiment in Cinema 4D and Octane Render. Playing around with x-particles.
Self initiated project created on 03.03.2017 using Cinema4D, xparticles, and Octane render. The theme this week was “Mesh”. Playing with xparticles, particle mesher, and the atom array tool.
Self initiated project created on 03.24.2017 using Cinema4D, Octane render, and adobe aftereffects. The theme this week was “Ice”. I thought it would be fun to play with organic textures in the glossiness channel on transparent and refractive materials.
Self initiated project created on 01.28.2016 using Cinema4D, Octane render, and adobe aftereffects. The theme this week was “Loop”. I thought it would be a good opportunity to make an animated gif. I hand wrote “loop” in cursive, which I traced in Illustrator, and imported as paths into C4D. The ribbons are rectangles with the spline deformer applied to the path.
A few architectural 3D renders, testing indoor lighting conditions, and a nice variety of anodized aluminum materials. Lens Chromatic aberration adds a lot of realism.
Architectural 3D rendering of a Modern Art Gallery, with bright interior lighting. Experimenting with multiple light bounces and different IES light profiles.
Some sexy 3D automotive renders of the ever-gorgeous, all-new BMW X6. With magic hour lighting, you can't go wrong.
A few 3D automotive product shot renders of an agricultural monster. Who doesn't like big trucks?
Self initiated project created on 07.29.2016 using Cinema4D and Octane render. The theme this week was “perspective”. I liked the idea of a twisted object, with the camera looking down the bending surface with a shallow depth of field. Fun with glass materials, refraction, and the atom array tool.
Self initiated project created on 11.09.2016 using Cinema4D and Octane render. The theme this week was “Face”. I wanted to create something more abstract, so I used a texture of tiny squares to drive the displacement depth on a material applied to some basic geometry of a human face.
Yet Another experiment created on 24.07.2015 using #Cinema4D and #OctaneRender. Playing around with texture emissions, lighting with materials. I'll post more renders soon.
Self initiated project created on 03.17.2016 using Cinema4D, Octane render, and adobe aftereffects. The theme this week was “Heat”. Playing around with texture emissions for light sources.
Self initiated project created on 02.27.2020 using adobe aftereffects. The theme this week was “Nothing”. Thanks Seinfeld for turning that word into a ubiquitous cultural reference. Sometimes we endure a big lead-up to… not much of anything.
Self initiated project created on 01.21.2016 using #Cinema4D, #xparticles, and #Octane render. The theme this week was “blank canvas”. Wanted a cool art gallery vibe. Playing with fluid simulations.
Self initiated project created on 02.18.2016 using Cinema4D, Octane render, and adobe aftereffects. The theme this week was “Chaos”. This is an experiment in sound-driven animation. The beat of the music drives the pulse of the floor animation, throwing the dynamic chairs in the air, which come crashing down, causing... well, moments of chaos.
Self initiated project created on 02.08.2016 using Cinema4D, Octane render, and adobe aftereffects. The theme this week was “Cube”. I thought it would be a good opportunity to make an animated gif. Playing around with dynamics in C4D.
Self initiated project created on 03.06.2020 using Adobe Photoshop. The theme this week was “Haiku”. Perhaps some people can relate to this one. We were dealing with...er... difficult personalities on other unrelated matters. Stay positive and stick to your values!
